Carbondale Non-Bargaining Unit Employees Personnel Board recently issued the following announcement.
Make sure your furniture and TVs are secure from tip-overs!
The Carbondale Fire Department would like you to be aware of the dangers of children climbing on furniture.
Tips to avoid possible childhood injuries and death:
Use brackets and straps to keep your TV secure.
Place the TV far back on the stand, out of the reach of little hands.
Tuck cords away to keep children from pulling on them.
Attach furniture to the wall using anti-tip devices.
Store heavier things on the bottom shelves.
Keep fun things on lower shelves, within children’s reach.
