Williamson County Board of Commissioners met Jan. 22.

The Williamson County Board of Commissioners met Wednesday January 22, 2020 at 10:03 a.m. at the Williamson County Administrative Building Boardroom, Marion, Illinois, in a regular meeting of the Williamson County Board of Commissioners with the following members present:

Jim Marlo, Chairman

Brent Gentry, Commissioner

Ron Ellis, Commissioner

Attest: Amanda Barnes, County Clerk and Recorder

Discussion on computer quotes. Tabled.

Motion made by Ron Ellis and seconded by Brent Gentry, approving Trophy Properties as the realtor/auctioneer of County property to be sold located in the area of Paulton Blacktop, Simpkins Road and Galatia Post Road. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Discussion had on the 7 squad cars from the Sheriffs that are no longer being used. They have found a company that will give $110 per ton. The cars would still have to be stripped. No action taken.

Scott McCabe, Chief Deputy, Tom Couch, Gentry and Couch Insurance, Terrance Henry (by phone), City of Marion, were present to discuss the ID Network. The software, equipment, insurance and financing were topics that were touched on. No action taken.

Motion made by Brent Gentry and seconded by Jim Marlo, approving an increased limit for cyber security insurance from Gentry and Couch. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Building Permit Ordinance – Tabled

Motion made by Ron Ellis and seconded by Brent Gentry, approving ORDINANCE NO. 20-01-22-02 AN AMENDED ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING CIVIL FEES AND CRIMINAL AND TRAFFIC ASSESSMENTS TO BE CHARGED BY THE CLERK OF THE CIRCUIT COURT OF WILLIAMSON COUNTY, ILLINOIS. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Residents of this county and surrounding counties were present to discuss separating from Cook County. They would like Commissioners to put an advisory question on the ballot for the November 2020 election. No action taken.

Motion made by Brent Gentry and seconded by Ron Ellis to adjourn meeting. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.
