CARBONDALE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: 2020 Illinois Tobacco Prevention Conference

Carbondale Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.

The Southeastern Illinois Tobacco Free Alliance, Little Egypt Tobacco-Free Coalition and the Wabash

Valley Tobacco Control Coalition are joining together to present the 2020 Illinois Tobacco Prevention

Conference on Thursday, February 27. The event will be held at John A. Logan College in Carterville, IL

from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Healthcare professionals and public health providers focusing on tobacco prevention and cessation

should attend. Additionally, school administrators, teachers, resource officers, and parents are also

encouraged to attend. New trends such as vaping, tobacco’s effects on the body, and best practices in

prevention and cessation will be discussed. A ‘Hidden in Plain Sight’ display will be available along with

various resource tables. CEUs will be offered through Illinois Public Health Association for $10 per

person for the following licenses: RN, LPN, APN, LPC, LCPC, LSW, LCSW, and CHES. Professional

development hours for teachers/school administrators and Certificates of Attendance will be available

at no charge.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided by Southern Illinois Healthcare. To register for the event as a
