The data shows that 29 men and two women were released in Marion. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 38. The youngest parolee is a 20-year-old man sentenced for property crimes in 2017, and the oldest is a 61-year-old man sentenced for crimes involving drugs in 2016.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest is Ronald G. Grove. He was convicted of crimes involving drugs in 2011 when he was 33 years old. He is now 41.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
