The Williamson County Board of Commissioners met Monday March 18, 2019 at 10:05 a.m. at the Williamson County Administrative Building Boardroom, Marion, Illinois, in a regular meeting of the Williamson County Board of Commissioners with the following members present:
Ron Ellis, Chairman
Brent Gentry, Commissioner
Jim Marlo, Commissioner
Attest: Amanda Barnes, County Clerk and Recorder
Discussion had with Jeremy Schumacher, Ozark Koala Services on options for a Forest Management Plan.
Motion made by Jim Marlo and seconded by Ron Ellis, approving Forest Management Plan with Ozark Koala Services. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.
Discussion on IT position had with Jeff Robinson, Supervisor of Assessment. Commissioner Ellis would like to have our own IT department. The idea was brought up about each office putting funds towards an IT person due to lack of funding. The Commissioners wanted to contact their labor attorney and talk more specifically about this job. At that time the meeting was paused to confer with attorney regarding position. Meeting resumed.
Commissioner Ellis stated that he had spoken with Wendy Cunningham, Assistant State’s Attorney about new software so that State’s Attorney’s office could go paperless. No action taken.
Discussion had on two new vehicles for Sheriff’s Department. Commissioner Marlo and Commissioner Gentry would like to hold off until budget time. No action taken. April 17th at 4:00 p.m. is the PBC Board meeting. Commissioners would like to attend.
Commissioners are still trying to decide on a day for Dump Day. They are looking at April 27th or May 1st.
Motion made by Jim Marlo and seconded by Brent Gentry to adjourn meeting. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Jim Marlo, Yea; Brent Gentry, Yea; Ron Ellis, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.
