AFRICAN AMERICAN MUSEUM OF SOUTHERN ILLINOIS: Summer Swimwear Trends

0210 clothes

African American Museum of Southern Illinois recently issued the following announcement.

This summer, head to the pool or beach with these trending swimwear styles.

Mellow Yellow

Looking for that perfect swimwear color to rock this summer? Yellow – and all hues in the color family – are definitely on-trend for swimsuits this season. It’s flattering on all skin tones – from neon yellow to honey mustard – making it a must-have swimwear color.

Meeeooow

If you love animal print, you’re in luck. Leopard in particular was one print seen all over fashion runways, both in swimwear and coverups. If you want to go bold with your fashion choices, check out the leopard print one-piece swimsuits – otherwise, you can try animal print in a two-piece or rock the print with solid complementary top or bottoms.

Resortwear Options

Looking for a swimsuit that takes you from day to night? Luxury swimsuits and resortwear-style swimwear makes it easy to lounge by the pool during the day, and head to the lounge by night. Sleek separates can easily be paired with skirts or shorts for a summer-friendly, but chic look.

Retro Vibes

You’ve probably noticed retro is in, so feel free to create a stylish fusion between the 90s and 70s with your swimwear this season. If you loved tankinis or suits with zipper accents from the late 90s, you’re going to love the variety of styles on the rack this summer. Traditional silhouettes are also accented with feminine touches – embroidery and floral prints give swimsuits a lingerie-inspired touch.

With so many stylish swimwear options this summer, you’re bound to find something that fits and flatters, no matter your style preference. Whether you need something to offer sun protection, or you want to rock a teeny bikini, there’s a fun suit for all.
