Murphysboro home prices rise in 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in 2017 in Murphysboro rose by $3,500 while total sales decreased by 8.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2017, there were 143 homes sold, with a median sale price of $67,500 - a 5.5% increase over the $64,000 median sale price for the previous year. There were 156 homes sold in Murphysboro in 2016.
