Makanda home prices fall in the first half of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the first half of 2018 in Makanda fell by $137,950 while total sales remained unchanged with eight homes sold, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through June of 2018, there were eight homes sold, with a median sale price of $108,500 - a 56% decrease over the $246,450 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were eight homes sold in Makanda in the first half of 2017, as well.

The median sales tax in Makanda for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $2,603, approximately 2.4% of the median home sale price for the first half of 2018.
