Report: Johnston City spent $8,447 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Johnston City Community Unit School District 1 is down 0.4 percent from five years ago, according to a Carbondale Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Williamson County school district spent $8,479 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $8,447 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1191 to 1104.

Johnston City's spending in 2017-18 was 36.7 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
