Carterville Water and Sewer Department recently issued the following announcement.
One of the biggest events in downtown Carterville is the Annual Pumpkin Path. Sponsored by the Carterville Chamber of Commerce, the Pumpkin Path is a huge success each year. Nearly all of the businesses in Carterville participate by opening their doors to the hundreds of “Trick or Treaters” in search of candy.
The Downtown streets are blocked off in the evening to allow children to go door-to-door at the downtown businesses. Many businesses decorate as a specific theme or create a spooky environment for the trick-or-treaters. All of this is free of charge to all parents and children and provides a safe environment for them to enjoy the evening.
