Southern Illinois University School of Medicine recently issued the following announcement.
The 18th Annual Denim & Diamonds fundraiser, presented by Memorial Health System and Simmons Hanly Conroy, has revealed its list of more than 270 live and silent auction items.
The list includes luxury vacation homes, first class airfare, one-of-a-kind artwork and jewelry, spa packages, dinners for up to 150 guests and more. To bid, reserve your seat for the Saturday, Oct. 13, celebration. Tickets are available for $125 per person, or $1,250 for a table of 10.
Funds raised at the event are used for local cancer research and patient care. “Funds raised at the event are used for cancer research through our Team Science Grants,” said Aziz Khan, MD, executive director of SCI. Khan is also the chief of hematology and oncology and a practicing oncologist at SCI. “Team Science Grants provide the initial dollars to gather the evidence and data needed to pursue and win a national federally-funded grant. Donations are critically important to our research enterprise.”
