With just three weeks to go until the Nov. 6 general elections, Williamson County's early voting numbers dropped compared to 2014.
According to data from Williamson County Clerk and Recorder Amanda Barnes, voters have already cast 874 early and grace-period votes in addition to 1,538 mailed-in ballots.
Those numbers are down when compared to the 2014 midterm elections, when a total of 3,271 ballots were cast via early, grace and mail-in voting, Barnes said.
During the 2016 presidential election, a total of 7,729 early, grace and mail-in ballots were cast.
Early voting across Illinois started Sept. 27 and will go through Nov. 5, the day before the election.
