SOUTHERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MEDICINE: Human Trafficking Conference: “They Never Asked” to be held October 12

Southern Illinois University School of Medicine recently issued the following announcement.

This all day conference will focus on labor and sex trafficking training for physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, administrators, social workers,

and others involved in any health care setting. National and regional speakers will provide education regarding trauma-informed care, working with law

enforcement and the FBI, the medical exam, and developing institutional protocols. Survivors will speak about experiences and recommend

improvements in encountering patients in the health care setting. A patient/provider simulation will demonstrate best practices.

Local and state resource providers will be on site to discuss services.
