According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 479 students during the year. That equates to 22 percent of the 2,175 students enrolled.
Of the 263 in-school suspensions, 171 were given to boys and 92 were given to girls.
The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 245 incidents. There were 16 incidents of violence without physical injury. For 246 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
Of the 216 out-of-school suspensions, 149 were given to boys and 67 were given to girls, including 48 elementary or middle schoolers and 168 high schoolers.
The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 160 incidents. There were 40 incidents of violence without physical injury. For 119 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
