City of Murphysboro City Council met June 6.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

The Murphysboro, Illinois, City Council met in special session, pursuant to its ordinances, on the 6th day of June, 2018. Mayor Stephens called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and Alderman Hughes led the council in prayer. Following the invocation, Mayor Stephens led the council in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Mayor Stephens then directed City Clerk Hunziker to call the roll. The roll was called with the following members:

Present: Barb Hughes, Jance Curry-Witzman, Russell Brown, Herb Voss, Gary

McComb, John Erbes, Dan Bratton, Mike Bastien, Gloria Campos,

W.J. Pittman

Absent: None

Met to approve acceptance of Curwood property from Bemis Company Inc. and approve transfer of Curwood property to Solar Alliance Hosting Inc. Mayor Stephens gave credit to Attorney Heller for all our legal representation. Attorney Heller stated we need to pass an ordinance that allows the city to receive title from Bemis Company Inc. for the sum of one dollar and then pass title on to Solar Alliance Hosting Inc. He will have all the signatures tomorrow then will record the deed at the courthouse. Alderman Campos thanked Mayor Stephens for making this happen. Mayor Stephens thanked everyone who assisted in this coming to pass: Molly Stephens, Solar Alliance, John S. Rendleman, Sue Givens, Tim Lee, Darrin Mills, Sandra M. Dietz-Ripley, Joe Koppies, Don Welge, Ed Heller, Lance Liggett, Jonathan Travelstead, Bobby Alexander, Chief Swafford, Dan Bost, Kyle Fager, Jim Murphy, Kelley O’Keefe Craig, Shannon Green, every member of the Murphysboro City Council since 2013, the Jackson County Board, Murphysboro Township, Rick Falaster, Amy Mills, Mike Mills, Michael Jones, Ted Rhea, Scott Doody, Scott Maloney, Jim Stewart, Brad Fager, Harold Sheffer, Bemis Corporation, Jason Bak, Harvey Abouelotta, Atheequa Ajizz, Brian Manwaring, Ed Cooney, Eric Kennedy, Yeyo Granados, Jeffrey W. Doherty, David Clover, Ryan Kennedy, Katharine Volle, Tom Miller, Byron Hetzler, Dustin Duncan, Tim Petrowich, the Murphysboro Key Club, Richard Blake and many others.

Motion: To approve acceptance of Curwood property from Bemis Company Inc.

Motion by Alderman McComb Second by Alderman Bratton

Mayor called for a voice vote. All were in favor.

Motion: To approve transfer of Curwood property to Solar Alliance Hosting Inc.

Motion by Alderman McComb Second by Alderman Brown

Mayor called for a voice vote. All were in favor.

Motion Carried

Motion: To approve Ordinance 18-5: An Ordinance Authorizing the Receipt of

Title and Transfer of Title to the Curwood Property.
