City of Carbondale Non-Bargaining Unit Employees Personnel Board met Jan. 8.

Call To Order

The meeting was called to order at 5:15p.m. by Commissioner Joseph Brown.

Minutes

There Was No Quorum to Conduct Any Official Business.

A Presentation Was Given By Ted Gutierrez.

Announcement

Commissioner Stephanie Brown announced that the NAACP Martin Luther King Jr Breakfast will be located at Southern Illinois University Carbondale on Monday January 15, 2018 beginning at 8:00a.m.

Commissioner Joseph Brown mentioned that the Jackson County Health Department will host a informational town hall about AIDS Awareness in Carbondale on January 23, 2018 beginning at 5:30p.m.

January 10, 2018 the Budget Coalition meeting will begin at 6:30p.m.

Sarah Heyer announced the Southern Illinois March to the Polls which is hosted by the Women United Network at the Carbondale Civic Center on January 20, 2018 beginning at 11:00a.m.

Awake: A Dream From Standing Rock will be screening on January 21, 2018 at The Varsity Center beginning at 2:00p.m.

On January 30, 2018 beginning at 7:00p.m. the film Sisters of Selma will be screening at the Race Unity

Chair Hennrich arrived to the Human Relations Commission meeting at 6:19p.m.

Commissioner Joseph Brown mentioned that Safety Procedure Observation should be discussed in more

Human Relations Commission meetings and the Human Relations Retreat.

Neighborhood Action Group Report

Sarah Heyer announced that the Neighborhood Action Group will meet next month in February.

Non-Violent Carbondale Project Report

Sarah Heyer announced that on January 9, 2018 the Non-Violent Carbondale Project will meet at 3:45p.m

Law Enforcement

Chief Grubbs announced an update for the Coats for Kids Program Drive.

Chief Grubbs mentioned the graduation of the D.A.R.E class and Citizen Police Academy.

Further details for the Spring Citizen Police Academy and the Personal Safety for Women Classes will be announced.
