Trico Community Unit School District 176 Board met March 19.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

Board President, Mrs. Jones called the regular meeting of the Trico Board of Education in the Trico Media Center at 6:30 pm. Members present were Mr. Gerald Speith, Mr. Dan Carson, Mrs. Jaime Lodge, Mr. Brian Thies and President Lois Jones. Absent: Mr. Matt Bernaix, Mrs. Stephanie King.

Mr. Dan Carson moved, second by Mrs. King to approve the following Consent Agenda:

1. Approve minutes for regular board meeting on February 19, 2018

3. Approve bills for the month of March 2018

4. Approve activity fund for the month of February 2018

5. Approve monthly financial statement for February 2018

6. Approve substitute list for February 2018

7. Approve monthly enrollment totals for February 2018

8. Approve the student discipline report for February 2018

Mrs. Lodge moved, second by Mr. Speith to approve the maximum of two (2) excused college visit days for Trico High School juniors and seniors who are in good academic standing and received signed permission from the Guidance Counselor or Building Principal. Mr. Thies moved, second by Mr. Speith to approve for Trico CUSD #176 to submit a waiver to the Illinois State General Assembly to allow the children of all Trico teaching staff, who live outside of the district, be allowed to attend Trico schools tuition-free. Mr. Thies moved, second by Mr. Carson to approve the tentative 2018-2019 school calendar as presented to the board. Yes: Carson, Lodge, Thies, Speith, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

Mr. Speith moved, second by Mrs. Lodge to approve the IHSA membership for the 2018-2019 school year. Yes: Lodge, Thies, Speith, Carson, Jones. No: None. Motion carried.

Informational: Review lunch, registration, athletic and classroom fees for the 2018-2019 school year.

Informational: Current enrollment and projected staff needs for the 2018-2019 school year.

Mr. Speith moved, second by Mrs. Lodge to approve a pilot program to release high school students at 2:45 p.m. each Friday for those high school students who reach their established behavioral and academic criteria for the weeks of April 6th, 13th, 20th, 2018.
