Marion Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.

PGR is proud to provide a location for Shamokin Carbons along the Piedmont & Northern Railroad in Gaston County, NC. Shamokin Carbon’s President, Don Rosini shares his logic as to why it made a compelling business case to invest along PGR’s Piedmont & Northern Railroad:

Shamokin Carbons has elected to partner with Progressive Rail's Piedmont and Northern Railroad at their Gastonia, NC site. Shamokin will rail anthracite coal and petroleum coke to Gastonia and Progressive Rail will handle all of Shamokin's transloading, processing and storage requirements.

For many years, Progressive Rail has provided these same services to us at their Lakeville and Cannon Falls, MN facilities. Our experience working with Progressive Rail in Minnesota has been outstanding. The quality of their work, their dependability, and their exceptional customer service is unparalleled. When we were informed that Progressive Rail was opening a facility in NC, we were highly motivated to work with them at this new location. In addition to their proven track record of exceeding our customers' highest expectations, we also get Class One optionality with both CSX and NS at the Gastonia site.

- Don T. Rosini
