With the Republican primary just a week away, gubernatorial candidate Rep. Jeanne Ives (R-Wheaton) will hold a rally in Marion on Wednesday.

The rally is at 4 p.m. at Veterans Airport, 7700 Aviation Dr.

The candidate challenging Gov. Bruce Rauner for the Republican nomination is making stops Wednesday in Cahokia, Marion, Savoy and Rockford, according to a schedule released today. State Rep. John Cabello (R-Rockford) will be with her.

Ives will hold rallies, and then will meet with rally-goers and be available to sign copies of The Governor You Don’t Know: The Other Side of Bruce Rauner

Written by Chicago GOP Chairman Chris Cleveland, the book describes Rauner's four years in office, detailing, "a factual history of Gov. Rauner’s tenure, bumping his rhetoric up against his policy choices and connecting the dots between the candidate who promised 'no social agenda' and an 'Illinois Turnaround' with his numerous betrayals," the Ives campaign previously said.

Ives, 52, is a West Point graduate. She's running for governor on a platform of greater fiscal responsibility and more accountability in Springfield.

The Illinois primary is March 20.
