The Marion Chamber of Commerce said it will honor members and significant figures in the Marion community who passed away this year at the annual Marion Chamber of Commerce Auction & Awards Banquet on Jan. 19 at the Pavilion.
The chamber said it is seeking submissions of residents that died in the past year. Submissions should focus on those who made contributions to the Marion chamber or to the greater Marion community, and as the chamber said it ins release, they are gone but not forgotten.
Those interested in making a submission should do so by Jan. 4 to ensure inclusion in the in-memoriam segment of the awards banquet. The chamber has an online form for easy submission, which includes the name and contact information of the nominator as well as the name of the person being memorialized, a quote about him or her and a photo of that person, the release said.
