Jackson County Human Resource Subcommittee met September 26. 

Here is the minutes as provided by the committee:

Call to Order (5:06 PM)

Members Present: Erbes, J.S. Rendleman and S. Bost

Members Absent: Endres

Also Present: Dan Brenner, Susie Kilquist

Approval of Minutes

I. 17-2815 August 1, 2017 Minutes

A motion was made by J.S. Rendleman, seconded by Erbes, to approve the August 1, 2017

minutes as presented. The motion carried by unanimous vote.

II. 17-2816 Personnel Policy Handbook Revisions

The subcommittee discussed the handbook and the changes that still need to be

made. Brenner informed everyone that the Technology Acceptable Use policy needs to be

attached to the handbook. He also began the discussion about the need for a lactation

room. The consensus of the subcommittee is to indicate that the lactation room will be

designated by the County Board. Brenner also suggested including the county ethics and gift

ban ordinance. This handbook, with the requested changes, will be forwarded to the Executive

Committee for approval. Rendleman asked that a copy be emailed to the Executive Committee

prior to the October meeting. Brenner was asked, again, if he would compose a letter to the

other departments informing them of his thoughts on the handbook. He, again, agreed and

asked that he receive a digital copy of the handbook with all the a ttachments. Brenner then

reminded the subcommittee that they should be thinking about doing a county Affirmative

Action Plan next. The subcommittee discussed what is involved in doing an Affirmative Action

Plan and S. Bost was asked to locate examples of Affirmative Action Plans.
