1. Treasurers Office

Ordinance 3382 – An Ordinance authorizing acceptance of the offer of a loan from the First Southern Bank, including all terms and conditions of the Loan Agreement as well as all special conditions contained therein and made a part thereof by reference. Also, the City further agrees that the loan funds awarded shall be used solely for the purposes of improving the Sewer System, all in accordance with the plans and specifications prepared by the Engineers of the City of Marion, which Project has a useful life of twenty-one years.

2. Water Office

Council approval to hire a Clerk to replace position vacated by Beverly Daniel’s transfer to Senior Citizens. Wages determined by Clerk’s Union Contract dated May 2015 – April 2019.

3. Wastewater Plant

Council approval of new price quotes from Evoqua Water Technologies – for the Odor/Corrosion Chemicals – Full Service Contract.

4. Street Department

Council approval of purchase of Opticom GPS Emergency Vehicle Preemption system for Signal lights located at the intersections of Court Street and DeYoung, Russell Street and DeYoung and Carbon Street and DeYoung. Total ot items – $31,500.00 less discount of $6,640.00 for a final cost of $27,360.00.

5. Code Enforcement Department

a. Ordinance 3383 – An Ordinance authorizing amending the C-1 General Commercial Zone District to R-A Rural Agriculture Zone District for parcel 06-09-476-002 located off Skyline Drive, owned by Randy Sellars.

b. Council approval of resignation of Jim Phemister as Chairman of the Zoning Board Committee, effective May 19, 2017.

6. HUB Recreation Center

a. Council Approval of Purchase

2012 Genie 26-35’ Push Around Lift – Model AWP-30SDC ($6850) with 3-year warrantee ($1986.50) for a total of $8836.50

b. Council Approval of Part-Time Hire Recommendations

David Houseright – Part-time Wellness Attendant $9.00/hr. & Part-time Security Officer (August/September start) 8-10 hours/week $15.00/hr.

Josh Bernstein – Part-time Wellness Attendant $9.00/hr.

Terrell Henderson – Part-time Wellness Attendant $9.00/hr. & Gym Attendant $8.50/hr., Sports Instructor $15.00/hr.

Aaron Porter – Part-time Gym Attendant $8.50/hr. & Wellness Attendant $9.00/hr.

Sam Swinford – Basketball Instructor $15.00/hr.

Leanne Jones – Part-time Swim Instructor $20.00/hr. & Lifeguard $9.50/hr.

Hunter Milligan – Part-time Lifeguard $9.50/hr.

7. Prevailing Wages

Ordinance 3384 – An Ordinance determining the Prevailing Rate Wages as defined in said act as amended, 820 ILCS 130/14 et seq. for laborers, mechanics and the workers employed in performing construction of public works for the City of Marion. – 2017.
