Bradley Elementary School District No. 61 Board of Education met Thursday, Jan. 12.

The board oversees all matters related to schools in District 61.

Here are the minutes as provided by Bradley ESD No. 61:

Regular Board Meeting January 12, 2017

The Regular Meeting of the Board of Education of Bradley Elementary School District No. 61 was held on January 12, 2017 beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room at the District Office. President Golwitzer called the meeting to order and thereafter presided.

On roll call the following members voted Present: Geraci, Golwitzer, Hasemeyer, Helgeson, Schubert, Trudeau and Whalen. Also present: Superintendent Goselin, Director of Finance - Kirt Hendrick, Principal Dave Andriano, Principal Mike Hahs, Principal Mark Kohl, Curriculum Coordinator - Rebecca Selk, and Special Services Director - Lindsay Coffey.

Pledge of Allegiance was led by Terrie Golwitzer.

On the recommendation of the Superintendent, a motion was made by Trudeau, seconded by Helgeson to adopt all items on the Consent Agenda: 1) Approve Regular Board Minutes of December 8, 2016; 2) Approve Board Minutes of the Special School Board Meeting on December 8, 2016; 3) Approve Payroll and Accounts Payable; 4) Approve District Depositories; 5) Approve Facility Use Requests (810): St. Joe's School - Use of Parking Lot at Bradley Central School (Las Vegas Night); 6) Approve Reimbursement of Imprest Account; 7) Approve District Policies - From November 2016: 2:125 School Board Board Member Compensation; Expenses Rewritten 2:125-E1 School Board Board Member Expense Reimbursement Form Rewritten 2:125-E2 School Board Board Member Estimated Expense Approval Form New 2:125-E3 School Board Resolution to Regulate Expense Reimbursements New 5:60 Personnel Expenses Rewritten 5:60-E1 Personnel Employee Expense Reimburse Form New 5:60-E2 Personnel Employee Estimated Expense Approval Form New

On roll call the following members voted Aye: Geraci, Golwitzer, Hasemeyer, Helgeson, Schubert, Trudeau and Whalen. Absent: None Nays: None Motion carried.

Recognition of Excellence included: 1) Generosity of Students, Families, Faculty/Staff and Community; and 2) Bradley Central Cheerleaders.

Bradley Central Principal Report: - 1) Central Band performed at the Bradley Christmas Parade - Great Job on a cold evening; 2) BBCHS pre-registration will begin this monthBBCHS counselors visited to begin the registration process for our 8" grade students. BBCHS Showcase is Wednesday, January 18" (a) 7:00 p.m.; 3) Cheerleaders are 2017 ICCA State Champions - We are really proud of our coaching staff and cheerleaders for bringing home the State Championship in Springfield last weekend. This is a third year in a row 4) Central Student Council raised over $700.00 through various fundraisers. Special Services Director Report: - 1) Preschool Focus Monitoring -3" Week of December - Visited 2 classes and review files; 2) Special Education Focus Monitoring - Site Visit occurred December 21"-Reviewed 13 files - Final report pending - Continued areas of concern: notifications of conference, inclusion of required team members at meetings and sufficient data included in present levels of performance; 3) Committee / Team Updates: Focus Monitoring Committee Meeting in December-PST Committee Formed in December and plan made for meeting in late January - IEP Bootcamp team met in December to plan material/presentation for our Special Education staff – SIP day in March and all staff- Institute Day August 2017 and parents - back to school 2017-2018; 4) EL Students - Access testing currently ongoing.

A motion to go into Executive Session at 7:29 p.m. was made by Helgeson, seconded by Trudeau to discuss the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, dismissal or complaints (5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1)); and discussion of minutes of meetings lawfully closed under this Act 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(21).

On roll call the following member voted Aye: Geraci, Golwitzer, Hasemeyer, Helgeson, Schubert, Trudeau and Whalen. Absent: None Nays: None Motion carried.

Reconvene to Open Session at 8:39 p.m.

On the recommendation of the Superintendent a motion was made by Golwitzer, seconded by Whalen to approve the December 8, 2016 Special Meeting and Regular Meeting Executive Session minutes and vote to retain the confidentiality of all previous minutes (semiannual review as required by Section 2.06). (Minutes - 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(21)).

On roll call the following members voted Aye: Geraci, Golwitzer, Hasemeyer, Helgeson, Schubert, Trudeau and Whalen. Absent: None Abstain: None Nays: None Motion carried.

On the recommendation of the Superintendent, a motion was made by Geraci, seconded by Helgeson to approve the destruction of Audio Recordings that are at least 18 months old for which we have approved minutes (Recording-5ILCS 120/2.06(c)).

On roll call the following members voted Aye: Geraci, Golwitzer, Hasemeyer, Helgeson, Schubert, Trudeau and Whalen. Absent: None Abstain: None Nays: None Motion carried.

On the recommendation of the Superintendent, a motion was made by Hasemeyer, Seconded by Geraci to approve appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employee (5ILCS 120/2(c) (1)): Jennifer Graeber - Part Time ParaPro at West; Yvette Noth - Full Time ParaPro at East; Melissa Kutemeier - transfer 1:1 ParaPro at East - Pre-existing student - new need; David Payne - Part Time - ParaPro - provide support on the KASEC bus and ParaPro Support at West and Central; Amanda BorelliP/T ParaPro-Reading at East and Substitute Teacher - Austin Denault.

On roll call the following members voted Aye: Geraci, Golwitzer, Hasemeyer, Helgeson, Schubert, Trudeau and Whalen. Absent: None Abstain: None Nays: None Motion carried.

On the recommendation of the Superintendent, a motion was made by Golwitzer, seconded by Helgeson to approve Resignations / Retirements / Leave (Dismissal - 5 ILCS 120/2(c) (1)): Areli Salazar - Unpaid Leave Days (January 23-27, 2017); Karlynn BlahnikUnpaid Leave Days (1 day February 8", 2017); Jill Littrell-Unpaid Leave Days (3 days - March 8, 9, 10, 2017); Lisa Ortman-FMLA Maternity (April 30 - End of Year); Sharon Brack -FMLA (April 3 - May 1); Audra Vogel-FMLA Maternity (Mid March thru April 28); Christine Rozak - Resignation - East ParaPro-Title IP/T; Deborah Pitts - Student Data Manager - Resignation; Scott Bright- 7" Grade Basketball Coach.
