Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine Prof. Martin Land's lifetime of work was celebrated at the 66th Annual Scientific Session of the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics in Chicago recently.
Land received the George M. Moulton Award for outstanding achievement in the Art and Science of Fixed Prosthodontics, considered the academy's most prestigious honor. He was lauded for his prodigious lifetime career output, including publishing and his years of practice.
Land has been head of Prosthodontics at SIU’s School of Dental Medicine since 1993. During part of his tenure, he also acted as chair of the Restorative Dentistry Department.
“Receiving an award of this magnitude is certainly an honor for Dr. Land,” Bruce Rotter, dean of SIU’s School of Dental Medicine, said. “The School of Dental Medicine takes pride in the accomplishments of its faculty, and we congratulate Dr. Land on this remarkable achievement.”
Land maintains active participation in a number of dental organizations and has served in leadership positions for professional societies and boards.
