Three softball players, including Herrin High School's Rebecca Moffett and Lexi Childers, have signed up to join the John A. Logan College program in 2017, according to www.jalc.edu.

Moffett, a shortstop, batted .451 as a junior, with 51 hits, including 14 home runs.

Childers, a second baseman, batted .363 with 45 hits and 23 stolen bases.

The Lady Vols also added RikkiLyn Wright from West County High School in Park Hills, Missouri, to their 2017 recruiting class. Wright had a 19-4 record with a 1.62 earned-run average as a pitcher and batted .560 with 38 RBIs and 31 runs.

This is the first recruiting class for Taylor Orsburn, who became the Lady Vols' head coach right before the fall semester. Last season, JALC went 30-20 overall and reached the quarterfinals of the Region 24 Tournament.
