At a recent meeting, the Carbondale Board of Fire and Police Commissioners discussed possible changes to the city code concerning the board's authority in disciplining employees.
The Carbondale Board of Fire and Police Commissioners is responsible for administering all entry-level police and fire examinations, as well as administering all promotional police and fire exams. The board also has the authority to uphold, reverse or modify actions taken by the city manager. The board serves as an appeals board for any disciplinary action proposed by the city manager.
