State Representatives Patrick Windhorst and Paul Jacobs recently hosted their annual Summer Reading Club Night at Mountain Dew Park in Marion. The event took place on Wednesday, offering young readers and their families a chance to enjoy a baseball game.

Rep. Windhorst expressed gratitude to the participants, saying, “I am proud to host so many dedicated students and their parents for our annual summer reading club celebration.” He emphasized the joy of interacting with students and encouraging them to read during the summer break.

Rep. Paul Jacobs shared similar thoughts: “What’s better than encouraging kids to read during their summer break and rewarding them with some tickets to a baseball game at the famous Mountain Dew Park?” He praised the efforts of the young readers.

Participants received two tickets to watch the Thrillville Thrillbillies play and an Official Certificate of Congratulations from the Illinois House of Representatives.
