Williamson County taxpayers paid the 17th largest sum in sales taxes in November 2024, according to Illinois tax records.

In total, Williamson County residents paid $1.4 million in sales taxes during November 2024.

Williamson County also ranked 17th in the Prairie State the month before, with $1.3 million spent in sales taxes.

The County School Facility Tax accounted for the largest share of sales taxes paid by Williamson County residents in November 2024.

As of 2021, Illinois was the highest taxed state in the US. A study from Wallet Hub found Illinois taxes were 39.83% higher than the national average.
