Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The special meeting of the Unity Point Board of Education was called to order at 5:08 p.m. by the President, Amanda Pangrazio, with the following members present: Morteza Daneshdoost, Amanda Pangrazio, Courtney O’Dell, Brent Pease, and Sylvia Thoms. Elizabeth Mackenbach was present via Zoom pursuant to Board Policy 2:220.

Morteza Daneshdoost made the motion, seconded by Sylvia Thoms to approve the Agenda as presented. Motion carried 6-0 with all voting yea.

Amanda Pangrazio recognized guests and visitors that were present.

Public Comments:

Brad Wilson – Spoke of concerns that had arisen due to information he heard about a recent faculty hire.

Lisa DiBiase entered at 5:21pm.

Board reviewed 5 Essentials data from the past 10 years to consider the development of an Action Plan.

Morteza Daneshdoost made the motion, seconded by Courtney O’Dell to enter into Executive Session at 7:18 p.m. to consider the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees of the public body. Motion carried 7-0 with all voting yea.

Morteza Daneshdoost made the motion, seconded by Lisa DiBiase to enter back into Regular Session at 8:49p.m. Motion carried 7-0 with all voting yea.

Lisa DiBiase made the motion, seconded by Sylvia Thoms to approve the minutes from the August 8, 2024 Executive Session. Motion carried 7-0 with all voting yea.

Board Remarks – None

Lisa DiBiase made the motion, seconded by Sylvia Thoms to adjourn the meeting at 8:51 p.m. Motion carried 7-0 with all voting yea.
