Murphysboro High School, part of Murphysboro Community Unit School District 186 in Jackson County, Illinois, shared updates on recent student achievements and upcoming athletic schedules via its official social media account.

On August 4, 2025, the school posted about a local fishing competition: "Joel Carrington and Joelten Griffin won the Red Bud fishing tournament. The tournament was held at Kinkaid Lake! Congratulations guys!!" The announcement highlighted the students' success at a regional event.

Two days later, on August 6, 2025, Murphysboro High School released the volleyball schedule for the upcoming season: "2025-26 MHS Red Devils Schedule for: Volleyball Please NOTE, schedules are subject to change as the season progresses. Each Sunday, a current Weekly Calendar will be posted." This update informed families and students that schedules could change and weekly calendars would be provided.
