Murphysboro High School recently highlighted upcoming events and student achievements through several posts on its official Twitter account. The school, part of Murphysboro Community Unit School District 186 in Jackson County, serves a diverse student body across multiple schools.

On August 3, 2025, Murphysboro HS reminded families about an annual event: “Don’t forget!! Our annual Welcome picnic is tomorrow afternoon at 4:00 at Lake Murphysboro. We will be at the East Shelter this year. Food, drink, and games provided. This is for Crimson Express and Blue Devil Band students and families. ＊＊＊Bring a lawn chair!”

Later that day, the school celebrated its bass team’s recent success with the message: “Murphysboro High School bass team won this yesterday way to go guys!!!” posted on August 3, 2025.

A separate post from the same date recognized an individual accomplishment: “Congrats Tyjaire Kellum!!!”

Murphysboro High School operates within Murphysboro Community Unit School District 186, which also includes Carruthers Elementary School, General John A. Logan Attendance Centre, McElvain School, and Murphysboro Middle School (source).
