Administrators in Crab Orchard Community Unit School District 3 earn an average of $105,929 per year, ranking 294th out of 864 districts in the state, according to a Carbondale Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2018 average is 12.3% higher than in 2014 and 15.4% higher than in 2009. District administrators make 1.3% less than the state average of $107,279.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Williamson County school district enrolled 512 students in 2017-18. There is an average of 227 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 181 to 1.
