Carbondale Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.
The 3rd Annual BGCC “PLAY WITH A PURPOSE” Golf Outing is set for Friday, September 21st at Hickory Ridge Golf Course. Golfers are invited to team to support the youth ages 6-18, in achieving Academic Success, Good Character and Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles.
Start off the afternoon with a great lunch! A golf scramble format that includes events such as: Longest Drive, Longest Putt, Closest to the Pin, and Hole-in-One Contests, Raffles, Mulligans.
Registration is $80 per player and $320 for a team of four. Registration and lunch start at 11:30 am at the Harvey Welch Pavilion followed by the opening players meeting. The shotgun start time is 1:00 pm.
Proceeds from the event support daily afterschool activities that impact over 1500 youth per year in four Carbondale locations. Now in its 14th year, BGCC offers mentoring, education and career development; leadership development, health and life skills, fitness, sports and recreation, art, social/emotional support, service learning, and civic engagement.
