MARION CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Brehm Celebrates the Class of 2018
Marion Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.
On June 1st, we celebrated the graduation of 22 seniors and 3 eighth grade students at Brehm Preparatory School. Parents, families, students, teachers, and staff cheered and cried for the accomplishments of our students.
One special part of the evening was the message of the commencement speaker, Brehm alumnus Austin Wielansky (Class of 2012). Austin began his message with one of his favorite quotes, "When writing the story of your life, do not let anyone else hold the pen.
Austin's powerful message included his life story. As a small child, doctors said he would not be able to speak, read, or even walk. With the love and support of family and professionals, Austin became "the author of his story and director of his destination". He credited Brehm for teaching him how to self-advocate, to step outside of his comfort zone, and to challenge himself to always go a little farther. Austin recently completed his MBA in sports management at Lynn University. He will begin his career in Dallas this month.
"When you put your mind towards something through hard work and commitment, anything is possible."
- Austin Wielansky, 2018 Commencement Speaker
At this time each year, we celebrate the hard work and commitment of each of our students and teachers. We hand students the pen and give them the encouragement to write their own story.
Together, we equip, empower, and encourage the students of Brehm and OPTIONS through charitable support. Give a tax-deductible gift today to support Brehm Preparatory School and OPTIONS. Thank you.
