CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 5:12p.m. by Commissioner Hennrich.
MINUTES
Postponing approval of minutes until April 3, 2017
ANNOUNCEMENT
Sarah Heyer announced the Multicultural Festival which will be hosted by the Carbondale Community High School on February 9, 2017 beginning at 5:30p.m.
Seed Swap 2017 will be held at the Carbondale Community High School on February 11, 2017 beginning at 9a.m.
Carbondale Homebuyer Seminar will be held at The Carbondale Public Library on February 18, 2017 beginning at 10:00a.m.
Sarah Heyer has forward the Neighborhood Action Group meeting minutes to Commissioner Hennrich.
Neighborhood Action Group meeting is scheduled for March 1, 2017 beginning at 5p.m. located at the Carbondale Civic Center.

Public Education/HRC Website
Executive Director Kathy Renfro of the Carbondale Park District discussed updating Carbondale playgrounds and suggested community involvement.
Commissioner Brandon suggested using different social media outlets to reach a variety of generations to promote the Carbondale Park District.
The Big Event will be April 1, 2017 located at the Carbondale Super Block.
All Species Puppet Parade will be April 22, 2017 beginning at 11a.m. at Turley Park.

PUBLIC COMMENTS
Commissioner Brandon mentioned the rising concerns of sexual assaults and violence on college campuses and wanting to develop a plan for a Sexual Assault and Violence Consent Reform Program.
Mr. Reed announced the Board of Trustee meeting will be February 9, 2017 at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville beginning at 10:00a.m.
SIUC Chancellor’s and University Excellence Scholarship Interview Weekend will be held on February 3rd & 4th at the SIUC Student Center.

Non-Violent Carbondale Project Report
Sarah Heyer announced that the Non-Violent Carbondale Project will meet on February 7, 2017 at 5:30p.m. at The Carbondale Public Library to discuss the 11 Days for Compassion.
Racial Justice Coalition
Commissioner Weaver mentioned if the HRC Commission was interested in becoming a host family for SIUC students.
Law Enforcement
Chief Grubbs announced Coffee With A Cop on February 14, 2017 at Panera Bread beginning at 7:30a.m.
Commissioner Gutierrez inquired about the Ride Along Program and how to participate with the program.
