The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has released its 2024-25 Scholar All-American Team list, recognizing the academic achievements of college athletes. Among those honored are ten members of the Southern Illinois University (SIU) swim and dive team, known as the Salukis. The team was also named a Team Scholar All-American, achieving a 3.40 GPA for men and a 3.70 GPA for women.

Celia Pulido and Olivia Herron were awarded First-Team Scholar All-American status. This recognition requires maintaining a GPA of at least 3.5 while competing in the national championship. At the 2025 NCAA National Championship, both athletes earned All-American honors; Pulido secured first-team status in the 100-yard backstroke, while Herron made second-team in the 200-yard breaststroke. Additionally, Herron was recognized as the Missouri Valley Conference’s Women’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Eight other Salukis achieved Second-Team Scholar All-American honors by maintaining a GPA of 3.5 or higher and meeting specific competition standards: Juraj Barcot, Oliver Mebs, Tiago Faleiros, Willem Huggins, Ali Robertson, Bea Padron, Farida Moussa, and Liseska Gallegos Gutierrez.

The ten Scholar All-Americans tie a program record for SIU swim and dive teams and match the total number from all other Missouri Valley Conference schools combined.
