The Southern Illinois University (SIU) Track and Field teams have been ranked in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Outdoor Track and Field Pre-Championship Poll. The men’s team is projected to finish fourth, while the women’s team is expected to secure the eighth position.
The men’s team accumulated 66 points, placing them behind Northern Iowa with 85 points and three first-place votes, Illinois State with 87 points and one first-place vote, and Indiana State leading with 96 points and six first-place votes.
On the women’s side, SIU received 69 points, ranking them eighth. Indiana State emerged as the favorite for the championship with 144 points and all 12 first-place votes.
The MVC Outdoor Championship is set to begin on Saturday, May 17, at the Lew Hartzog Track and Field Complex in Carbondale, Illinois.
