Southern Illinois University’s Track and Field team is set to compete in the Jim Green Invitational, beginning on Friday, May 2, in Lexington, Kentucky. The invitational is the team’s final official meet before the MVC Championship scheduled for May 17 in Carbondale, Illinois.

The competition includes a lineup of teams such as Asbury, Bellarmine, Butler, Eastern Kentucky, Harvard, Indiana, Kentucky State, Louisville, Michigan State, Milwaukee, Morehead State, Penn State, Purdue, Transylvania, Union (Ky.), and Western Kentucky.

The invitational spans two days. The first day kicks off with the heptathlon and the women’s hammer throw at 2:30 p.m., while track events start at 4:30 p.m. The second day begins with the conclusion of the heptathlon at 11:30 a.m. Field events follow at noon, featuring the women’s discus, men’s shot put, and women’s high jump. The track events conclude the meet, beginning at 12:40 p.m. with the 4x100M relay events.
