State Representative Paul Jacobs has joined State Senator Dale Fowler and State Representative Patrick Windhorst to launch a Valentine’s for Seniors Card Drive. The initiative invites residents to make and donate Valentine’s Day cards for seniors in nursing homes and assisted living facilities across the region.

The organizers encourage individuals, families, schools, churches, and community groups to participate. Representative Jacobs said, “This is something families, schools, and community groups can do together. It’s a simple act of kindness that can make a real difference.”

Representative Windhorst added, “Seniors in our communities deserve to feel remembered and appreciated. These cards help remind them they’re not alone.”

Senator Fowler stated, “Valentine’s Day is all about showing how much we care for others, and this drive is an easy way to reach out to seniors and show just how much their community cares for them. A simple card or note can go a long way in brightening someone’s day and bringing some joy to seniors across the 59th District.”

Cards should be delivered by February 6, 2026, to any of the following district offices: Senator Dale Fowler at 2 North Vine Street, Suite 600 in Harrisburg; Representative Paul Jacobs at 600 Halfway Road, Suite 103 in Marion; or Representative Patrick Windhorst at either 2 N. Vine Street, Suite 5A in Harrisburg or 202 E. Clark Street in West Frankfort. The collected cards will be distributed to senior care facilities throughout the district.

For further information about the card drive, residents are advised to contact Senator Fowler’s district office at 618-294-8951.

Jacobs was elected as a Republican to represent Illinois’ 118th House District in 2023 after succeeding Patrick Windhorst.
