Southern Illinois University will host the 2025 Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Outdoor Championship at the Lew Hartzog Track and Field Complex in Carbondale, Illinois. The event is scheduled to begin on Saturday, May 17.

The Salukis men’s team is predicted to finish fourth, while the women’s team is expected to secure eighth place according to the Pre-Championship Poll. The competition will feature all 12 men’s teams and nine women’s programs from various universities.

The two-day championship starts with day one at 8 a.m., featuring the men’s 10K race. Other events include the men’s decathlon at 9:30 a.m., followed by the women’s decathlon at 10 a.m., and field events commencing later in the evening at 10 p.m.

Day two begins with the conclusion of combined events for both men and women at 9 a.m. Field events are set to start at 10:30 a.m., with track events concluding the day’s schedule starting from 1:15 p.m.

In terms of rankings, several athletes from Southern Illinois have secured top positions. Andre Jackson II leads in the men’s 400M Dash with a time of 46.66 seconds and ranks fifth in the 200M Dash clocking in at 20.99 seconds. Shane Ashton holds first place in the men’s 400M Hurdles with a time of 51.90 seconds.

On the women’s side, Leah Thames ranks second in both the women’s 200M Dash (23.56 seconds) and women’s 400M Dash (54.30 seconds). Additionally, Na’Kyrah Cooks stands third in Long Jump with a distance of 5.78 meters.
