The Southern Illinois University women’s basketball team will host the University of Northern Iowa on Friday, marking their return home after three consecutive road games. The game is set for 6 p.m. and will be available on ESPN+, with commentary by Dominic Hoscher and Saluki Hall of Famer Jamaal Tatum. Gift Uchenna leads in several statistical categories, including rebounding and blocks-per-game. Kayla Cooper contributed significantly in their last game with a career-high eight assists. Se’Quoia Allmond missed her fifth game of the season recently but had been a strong performer earlier.
Northern Iowa enters with a record of 9-9 overall and 4-3 in conference play but is on a two-game losing streak. The Panthers are known for their scoring offense, averaging 75.9 points per game.
Historically, Southern Illinois holds a record of 35-49 against Northern Iowa, with UNI winning the last three matchups between the teams.
