State Representative Dave Severin (R-Benton) has provided an update on the ongoing restoration and renovation of the Rend Lake Resort. Speaking with WSIL-TV during a Community in Focus segment, Severin highlighted the state’s significant investment in rebuilding the facility to serve both Illinois residents and visitors from other states.

Severin stated, “I took a tour just a couple of weeks ago, and I saw the quality of what’s being done. This spring, concessionaires will have the opportunity to bid on a request for proposal (RFP). That will happen this spring, and we hope to have it fully back open in the fall.”

The restoration project is part of efforts by Illinois to enhance tourism infrastructure. Severin was elected as a Republican representative for Illinois’ 116th House District in 2023, succeeding David Friess.
