Illinois State Representative Dave Severin has marked National Sweet Corn Day by encouraging residents to celebrate the popular crop, which is widely grown in Illinois. Severin, who was elected as a Republican to represent the 116th House District in 2023, replaced David Friess as state representative.

Sweet corn is recognized as an important agricultural product in Illinois, with many communities celebrating its harvest each year.
