Ngoyi, Kraus, and Allen named to All-MVC Scholar-Athlete Team for 2025-2026 season

The Missouri Valley Conference announced on March 10 that three members of the Southern Illinois Salukis women’s basketball team—Kelowna Ngoyi, Alayna Kraus, and Karris Allen—have been selected to the 2025-2026 All-MVC Scholar-Athlete Team.

This recognition highlights both academic and athletic achievements within the program. The Southern Illinois Salukis women’s basketball team competes at the NCAA Division I level, according to the official website. The team is a member of the Missouri Valley Conference and operates from Carbondale, Illinois, where it hosts home games at Banterra Center.

Ngoyi was named to the Scholar-Athlete team in her first year of eligibility as a sophomore. She holds a 3.92 GPA while majoring in Computer Science and has appeared in 20 games this season for a total of 69 minutes. Kraus, an Oral Roberts transfer in her first year with Southern Illinois, leads the team offensively with an average of 15.5 points per game on 41.3% shooting and maintains a perfect 4.0 GPA as a Psychology major. Allen, a senior majoring in Exercise Science with a 3.59 GPA, has contributed off the bench throughout the season by appearing in 23 games and averaging 4.3 points and 3.2 rebounds per game.

These selections mark the first time since 2024 that Saluki players have earned spots on the All-MVC Scholar-Athlete team; previously Paige Clubb made Third Team and Adrianna Katcher received Honorable Mention honors.
