Murphysboro High School shared updates regarding its Red Devils sports calendar and related information through a series of social media posts in January 2026.

On January 18, Murphysboro HS posted, “2025-26 (Jan 19-24), Red Devils Sports Calendar https://t.co/WBTa9U39rA”. The following day, on January 19, the school account published another message: “https://t.co/prOZk7SpAz”. On January 20, an additional post was made: “https://t.co/q2qU0MIlwC”.

Murphysboro High School is part of Murphysboro Community Unit School District 186, which serves Jackson County and includes Carruthers Elementary School, General John A. Logan Attendance Centre, McElvain School, and Murphysboro Middle School. According to the Illinois State Board of Education, the district employs 147 teachers with an average salary of $53,770; approximately three-quarters are women and one-quarter are men.
