Murphysboro High School reported on recent basketball outcomes for both its boys’ and girls’ teams in a series of posts on December 13, 2025. The updates provided scores and highlights from the games.
In one post, Murphysboro High School stated, “Murphysboro BBK (3-1, 1-0) defeats Massac County (4-1, 0-1) 61-49. Cash Brooks leads the way with 23 points https://t.co/RNgvyekEqg” (December 13, 2025). Murphysboro High School is part of Murphysboro Community Unit School District 186, which serves Jackson County and includes several schools such as Carruthers Elementary School and General John A. Logan Attendance Centre. According to the Illinois State Board of Education, the district employs a total of 147 teachers with an average salary of $53,770; nearly three-fourths are women. No teacher in the district has more than ten absences per school year. The student body is composed primarily of White students at 69 percent, followed by Black students at nearly sixteen percent and Hispanic students at just over seven percent.
