Murphysboro High School has recently shared several updates regarding their sports teams and schedules. The communication offers insight into the active sporting events and achievements of the students.

On April 23, 2025, Murphysboro High School announced a change in their sports schedule. The Junior Varsity baseball game was moved to Carbondale, to be played on their varsity field, due to unsatisfactory field conditions at Murphysboro. However, varsity baseball and softball games were set to proceed in Murphysboro at 4:30 PM.

In a tweet on April 24, 2025, Murphysboro High celebrated a victory in girls’ soccer. The post proudly stated that the Red Devils’ girls soccer team secured another SIRR Conference win on the road with a 7-0 final score against Harrisburg. Notable performances included Izzy Doerr with four goals, Brynn Decker contributing two goals and two assists, Josselin Mateo adding one goal and one assist, and Genoa McCarroll with three assists.

Later on April 24, 2025, the school updated followers on the progress of the 2024-25 Jackson County Braggin’ Rights Challenge. It was reported that the Terriers’ baseball team won, tying the series at 4-4. This annual challenge involves varsity-level competitions between Murphysboro and Carbondale schools, with records being maintained for more information available on their website.
