On January 24, 2025, Murphysboro High School announced that the Red Devils Wrestling Team secured a win against Anna-Jonesboro Community High School with a score of 62-9. This victory marked Coach Shea Baker’s 168th win as head coach of the Red Devils. In another update dated January 25, 2025, Murphysboro High School reported that the Red Devils advanced to the title game of the Sparta Tournament by defeating Sparta with a score of 56-46. The team is set to face Pinckneyville in the championship game scheduled for tomorrow at 4:30 pm. “Red Devils advance to Title Game of Sparta Tournament by beating Sparta, 56-46. Devils face Pinckneyville tomorrow 4:30pm for Championship!”
