Murphysboro High School has announced notable achievements by its cross country teams at the 2025 Murphysboro Cross Country Invitational, according to a series of posts on its official X (formerly Twitter) account.
On September 3, 2025, Murphysboro HS posted, “Congratulations to our Girls Cross Country team on winning the 2025 Murphysboro Cross Country Invitational! https://t.co/xSF9ObBLfC”. Later that evening, another post recognized the boys’ team: “Congratulations to the Murphysboro Boys Cross Country Team on placing 2nd at the 2025 Murphysboro Cross Country Invitational! https://t.co/cZQdFtdJO3”.

Murphysboro High School is part of the Murphysboro Community Unit School District 186 in Jackson County. The district includes several schools such as Carruthers Elementary School and General John A. Logan Attendance Centre.
