Murphysboro High School, part of the Murphysboro Community Unit School District 186, recently celebrated the achievements of its student-athletes in girls’ track. The school district serves Jackson County and includes several educational institutions such as Carruthers Elementary School and Murphysboro Middle School.

On May 8, 2025, Murphysboro High School extended congratulations to Shameria Joshua-Ayers for her recognition in the SIRR All-Conference Girls Track. The announcement was made through a tweet stating: “Congrats Red Devil, SIRR All-Conference Girls Track!!! Shameria Joshua-Ayers”.
